48 hours in one town is a tight squeeze to fit in all the activity they have to offer, you may not be able to fit in all our recommendations. But instead, just pick the ones that suit you, so your experience in Byron Bay is the best it can be.

Cape Byron Bay Lighthouse

Perfect for a hot day, why not take a walk or hire a bike to the most Easterly point of Australia- the Cape Byron Bay lighthouse. It’s a pretty steep hike or cycle for those who are brave enough, but it’s well worth the trip to see the views of the big blue for as long as beyond the eyes can see! In some seasons you can even spot whales from the look-out spots. The walk will take you about 45 minutes each way so you’ll be able to fit it in perfectly during your 48 hours in Byron Bay.

Kayak Next To Dolphins

Fancy meeting some of the smiliest and friendliest sea animal out there? Kayak aside a school of dolphins in the sea in Byron Bay. Get taught how to kayak by the professionals and try not to capsize as you paddle out and see some awesome sea life such as turtles and chirpy dolphins. You won’t want to do this on a rainy day so make sure you check the weather forecast before setting off. Book your tour through any local tour, but be careful for tricksters trying to rip you off and make sure you haggle your price! Day Trip To Nimbin

If you’re a hippy at heart then you may find a new home in Nimbin. Taking you back to the 60’s you’ll find an array of funky shops, entertaining locals, unique markets, some crazy tasting cooking that may make you feel pretty funky and a lot of wacky backy (funny smelling cigarettes). You can either take a tour that will drive you there and back but this may take up a whole day of your time, so for some more freedom of your experience then take the bus over and back. Go For A Surf

You can’t visit Byron Bay and not experience riding the waves on their awesome beaches. Top surf picks in Byron include; The Wreck, Main Beach, Clarke’s Beach, The Pass, Belongil Beach and Tallows Beach. You can rent boards and wetsuits all around the town, near the main streets or even at hostels. If you’ve never tried surfing before then why not start now and take a surf lesson? You haven’t completed Byron Bay unless you’ve tried to stand on a board. The best surf companies to try out is MOJO surf, they are super helpful an ensure you achieve a wave at least once. Byron is known for its laidback, hippy lifestyle. Street music and relaxation of the mind and soul. But if you’re looking for a party then Byron can more than provide. Alternative Nightlife Experiences

If you want to see the hippies at their finest then go and watch the talent show at the Arts Factory Lodge. From circus tricks, deep meaningful poems, vegan speeches and made up ‘smoking pot’ songs the talent show will not fail to surprise you. It’s a great place if you want to witness something like no other, or even if you’re a hippy yourself, you’ll feel right at home.

Across from the Arts Factory Lodge you will see the Byron Bay Brewery, here they serve their own variety of brewed beers so take a Bev, sit in their cool interior and listen to some awesome live music, stand up comedy and open mic night.

Chilled Nightlife

If you want a few day drinks and enjoy the beaut sea scenery then The Beach Hotel is the place to visit. the prices may be slightly higher than your usual club but the views make it worth it. Another would would be The Northern Hotel.

Busy Clubs

If you’re looking for more of a party and dance club vibes then you’re best places to hit up include; The Sticky Wicket, Cheeky Monkeys and Woody’s Surf Shack.
