Whether you’re looking to indulge or if you are feeling cautious of your bank balance, Budapest will be sure to provide you the best time. Here are the main sights and experience you must experience within your 48 hours of being in Budapest.
Szechenyi Thermal Bath Party
Experience a pool party like no other. Imagine an outdoor nightclub in a massive heated pool. Thousands of ravers from over the world, techno DJ sets, strobe lights, strange but strong Hungarian vodka while dancing/swimming around with your beer goggles on. The Szechenyi Thermal Bath Party is something you can’t miss out on. Party until the early hours in the heat and heart of Budapest.
Feeling pretty fragile the following day? You can always visit the Szechenyi Thermal Bath’s while the sun is shining and relax in the natural mineral water (once it has been cleaned from all the spilt vodka for course). The bath is said to help people who struggle with joint pain due to their richness in minerals (great for a hangover too).
Margaret Island
Margaret Island is a beautiful park that sits in the middle of Danube in Budapest. You only need a couple of hours here, but while you are why don’t you go mad and rent a golf buggy, pedal carts or bikes and explore the parkland. If you’re looking for more of a chilled evening then head over and watch the famous “music fountain” which is meant to move in time with classical Budapest band that plays alongside the scenic broad walk.
Fisherman’s Bastion
Walk up to Fisherman’s Bastion, it is a pretty steep climb but you’re guaranteed to see half off the main sights in Budapest along the way. Get that insta worthy shot in-front of panoramic views at this beaut Budapest castle called Fisherman’s Bastion. With a load of live street music played at every 10 feet, delicious cafe’s and bars overlooking the landscape of Budapest and the most gorgeous gothic castle making you feel like you’re in the Middle Ages. It has said that Fisherman’s Bastion is one of the inspirations behind some of Walt Disney’s famous princess palaces. This castle also doesn’t cost a thing to go and see, but be careful as the bars around can be a bit costly, so if you are hoping to keep hold of that travel money then visit one of the eatery on the way instead.
Hummus house
Hungarian food itself can be very questionable. Known for their famous Goulash dishes (made up of beef, veg and a hella lot of spiciness), their deep fried bread Langos and traditional cabbage stew (Fozelek), will be sure to get your belly feeling a bit funky.
