Auckland is set around two large harbors in the Northern part of the country. In between the Manukau Harbour and Waltemata Harbour, this pretty place of the world feels less like a city and more half urban, half marine.
Sky Tower
View the whole of Auckland at extraordinary heights on at the Sky Tower. Standing at a mammoth 328 meters height, you will be sure to see what the whole city has to offer. Whether you’re looking to get involved in an exciting activity, just take a look at the breathtaking views, or have a very unique dining experience the Sky Tower has a lot to offer.
For those adrenaline junkies out there you can do a Sky Jump of where you throw yourself off great heights into the city below. Or why not make those knees feel weak on the Sky Walk activity they offer. Otherwise, get involved in 360 view yoga lessons, a little gamble at the casino, a spot of shopping, or a 3-course meal in the luxury dining facilities. Any experience up the Sky Tower will be sure to start off your experience of travelling Auckland.
Kayak To Rangitoto Island
One of the most unique kayak locations the world has to offer, Aukland is the only place you can kayak to a volcanic island, Rangitoto. See the city from another perspective and really work those arm muscles as you glide across the super still water. Whether you do a full day, multi-day, half-day or sunset tour, this is one experience that you won’t want to miss out on when travelling Auckland. If you fancy an island walk then get off at Rangitoto island and explore the little jungle trek before heading back to shore.
Beaches
Auckland is blessed with some of the most beautiful beaches in New Zealand. Sure they may not be the warmest places to park your butt for the day of sizzling in the sunshine, but they are great for a good walk or to take some superb snaps. Some of the must-visit beaches include Whatipu Beach, Lion Rock, Piha, Long Bay Regional Park, Anawhata Beach, Oneroa Beach, Mission Bay Beach.
Auckland Central
Central Auckland is full of amazing food, shopping, music and entertainment. With it being New Zealands largest city the town center is buzzing during the day and throughout to the night. If you have a love for art and creativity then take a trip to the Auckland museum and the Sculptureum. Take some time to walk through the city center and take it the New Zealand culture.
