Happy New Year everyone! We hope that you had some fun while staying safe and managed to keep yourself out of 14 days of isolation with all of the recent border closures.
Like we said last year, we’re not going to waste this ‘crisis’, so we’ve decided to make some major improvements to our travel money and prepaid travel card products. We’ll still be working with the incredible team at Visa, but we’ll be collaborating with fresh partners to support our financial services products.
We’ll be making official announcements very soon about who we’re working with, but what we can say is that they’re well backed, trusted, innovative and just generally really impressive… We might actually be in love ❤
While we’re talking partners, we want to take this opportunity to give a shout out to Tuxedo Money Solutions and Heritage Bank. We’ll always be grateful for their support and while we’re sad to be moving on, we know it’s for the best and we know that the timing is right for a fresh start…Onwards and upwards ?
So what happens now?
Your Pelikin App isn’t going anywhere, nor are our products like Travel Insurance, Squad Perks or Pelikin Experiences. In about a months time we will be removing the travel money features and the Pelikin Prepaid Visa Travel Card will stop working. We know this isn’t ideal, but it’s what we have to do to ensure the timely re-launch of both products…Trust us, it’ll be worth it ?
We know that not everyone is a cardholder but for those of you who are, here’s a snapshot of what’s to come…
Soon you’ll receive an email from Tuxedo Money Solutions informing you about your account closure. (By law, these comms need to come from them.) Please read this email carefully as it will include important information around cut-off times for spending/withdrawing funds from your account and when exactly your card will stop working.
We’ll be reaching out frequently over the course of the next few weeks as well to check-in, remind you the important dates and to update you on our progress in bringing you a rejuvenated and improved travel money product.
That’s about it for now…
Sure 2020 was rough, but we survived and we’re not going anywhere. We’re super excited to see some international travel return during 2021 and when it does, we’ll be ready to help you travel the world again with a supercharged travel money experience along with a much broader range of epic travel products.
